I began my career in the fashion industry as a model. Over the course of my 10-year journey, I had the opportunity to work alongside some of the best photographers and designers in the business. Being in front of the camera gave me invaluable insights into the nuances of lighting, composition, and how to make a shot come to life. I developed a keen understanding of what works in a frame and how to bring energy and authenticity to each moment. This experience was essential in shaping my approach to photography, as I learned firsthand how powerful a single image can be when executed with precision. The transition from modeling to photography was a natural evolution. Having spent years learning from top professionals, I was ready to apply that knowledge behind the lens. The creative control and technical challenges of photography intrigued me, and I soon discovered the satisfaction of capturing moments that I could shape entirely on my terms. This was when I fully embraced the role of photographer, experimenting with lighting setups, angles, and storytelling techniques. Every project, whether large or small, allowed me to refine my style and technique. As my portfolio grew, so did my confidence in translating my vision into images. My first significant role came when I became the in-house fashion photographer and filmmaker for L’Officiel, working specifically for the Asian market. This was a pivotal moment in my career, as it allowed me to refine my creative process within the structured environment of a major fashion publication. Working for L’Officiel involved collaborating on editorial shoots, fashion features, and high-profile campaigns, where I had the creative freedom to experiment with different styles and concepts. It was here that I truly honed my eye for capturing both the art of fashion and the subtleties that make every model and outfit unique. I learned how to push boundaries while remaining true to the essence of the magazine’s brand. My time at L’Officiel helped solidify my reputation as a photographer who could merge editorial standards with fresh, modern perspectives. As my career progressed, I expanded my horizons by working as a filmmaker and Director of Photography (DoP) on several projects in Bollywood and for various fashion brands. The transition into filmmaking came naturally as I found myself drawn to the storytelling aspect of fashion. Bollywood’s vibrant energy and dramatic flair were an exciting challenge for me, and I quickly adapted to the fast-paced environment of film production. This was a chance to explore new techniques, such as cinematic lighting, camera movement, and the delicate balance between performance and aesthetics. The experience pushed me to think more broadly about how fashion can be integrated into film and how visuals can tell a deeper, more compelling narrative. In addition to my work in commercial fashion and film, I began developing my own documentary adventure films and fashion short films. These personal projects allowed me to explore different genres and storytelling approaches, capturing authentic moments in remote locations and exploring cultures through fashion. Working on these films gave me the chance to dive deeper into the craft of filmmaking, focusing not just on technical aspects, but on creating a compelling narrative that connects with the audience on a more intimate level. The challenge of balancing the raw authenticity of documentary filmmaking with the stylized elements of fashion was an enriching experience that expanded my creative range. One of the highlights of my career came when I was awarded “Best Fashion” at the Miami Fashion Film Festival. This recognition was a significant milestone, as it validated the years of hard work and dedication I had put into my craft. The award was for a project that combined high fashion with cinematic storytelling, a blend that has since become a signature element of my work. Receiving this recognition opened doors for new collaborations and clients, and it reaffirmed my commitment to pushing the boundaries of what fashion photography and filmmaking could be. Recently, I moved to Los Angeles, where I continue to build on my career, working on various projects and expanding my creative range. Los Angeles has provided a new environment, filled with creative energy, and has allowed me to collaborate with artists and professionals from diverse backgrounds. The city’s dynamic atmosphere continues to push me to grow as both a photographer and filmmaker, and I am excited about the projects that lie ahead. Looking to the future, my goal is to continue creating powerful, compelling imagery and films that resonate on a deeper level. I am driven by a desire to explore new techniques, work with innovative brands, and produce content that challenges conventional boundaries. The journey from model to photographer and filmmaker has been one of constant learning and growth, and I’m eager to see where my creativity will take me next. Ultimately, my aim is to leave a legacy in the fashion and film industries—not only through the images I create but through the stories and emotions they convey.
