Born and raised in a small town in the Dominican Republic, Melina’s childhood was simple but very colorful. As a young girl her afternoons were spent playing in her grandmother’s yard with her friends and cousins, chasing animals and once in a while getting stung by a bee. For those who know Melina, they can see her childhood and her personality through her designs. Coming from a long family line of strong women, Melina Nmili, founder of lalla bee, came up with the label’s name as a way to identify her muse: a woman, daughter, sister and mother who works hard to excel at everything she puts her mind to and looks effortlessly beautiful while doing so. With designs that define simple elegance, our vision is to dress women in timeless pieces with a modern twist and an exquisite attention to detail. Melina resides in Boston with her husband and son.
