Currently working in the prestigious Flat Iron District bringing his haircutting and styling expertise to the Tosler Davis Salon. Before joining Tosler Davis, Mr. Kovacs helped launch the Chris Chase Salon in the trendy West Chelsea neighborhood. But it was in SoHo where his life long dream of opening a salon came true. As SoHo was becoming NYC’s most fashionable neighborhood, Mr. Kovacs helped establish Space Salon. He spent ten years as co-owner where Space Salon earned a reputation as one of New York’s hippest salons. He’s been called upon numerous times for his expert advice by many of the leading fashion magazines including Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Allure, Glamour, and In-Style. Mr. Kovacs has also appeared on two episodes of the hit T.V. show, “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”. Mr. Kovacs’ career began to take off when he earned a spot at the legendary Vidal Sassoon Salon. He focused his love and passion for the art of hairstyling and quickly learned how to transform his clients with head turning styles. Mr. Kovacs has been honing his skills now for over 20 years and has worked with some of the best in the business. As a Stylist, he has created innovative styles for hair collections, educational workshops, and demonstrated cutting techniques and styles at hair shows. He brought those skills as an educator to Aveda at the beginning of their major expansion. There he participated in intense artist trainings, helped open their flagship salon and spa in SoHo, and taught advanced seminars at the Aveda Institute. Without a doubt, Mr. Kovacs provides a special level of comfort to his clients with his exceptional background, energy and enthusiasm. His forte is his work as a “salon stylist”. He has a reputation as being a good listener who does not force his own agenda on his clients.
