Hollister was raised in New England and attended Wesleyan University. He began a career in men's design, apprenticing at Dunhill Tailors later moving to Ralph Lauren where his interests expanded to fashion photography. His photographs have appeared in magazines such as Italia Vogue, Nippon Vogue, Allure, American Photo, L'Insense, Elle, i-D, The Face and London Times Style. His commercial work includes clients : Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Levis, Fila, Pepe Jeans London and Jones New York. Hollister's work is collected in private collections throughout the world in addition to portrait commissions. His photographs and portraits are in the permanent collections of the National 911 Memorial Museum and the National Portrait Gallery London.
